I hope Squeekie's doing okay this morning, and that you can iron out any queries about his meds.
The round trip to the vets sounds like an epic journey. At least it was a lovely day yesterday so you didn't get rained on in between buses?!
I will continue rooting for Squeekie here xx

I'm glad Dr. Aidan found something that could be causing Squeekies problems, but that there is treatment for the problem. I loved the Wheekers Wire message service to get Karen's message to Jackie. Talk about international support! I hope it all gets sorted so Squeekie can get started on his treatment and back to his old self again.
Wow, six buses. I can't even imagine that, but I've always lived within walking distance of things, or so far out I needed a car. I hope you're feeling better today, Jackie.

Thanks so much everyone for your messages. Squeekie hasn't yet improved but it is only a short amount of time since his dental examination. I'm letting him walk from the living to the hall a few times every couple of hours as I think a longer distance of movement helps him to poop more. Even before he became poorly Squeekie loved his bed and older guinea pigs do rest more of course. He isn't interested in eating even grass at the moment, just a tiny interest, a mini nibble then he turns away. I remember it took two weeks for him to eat on his own last time so I'm hoping that once his meds kick in, he'll start feeling better. He is very relaxed when I'm holding him, having his usual snuggle so I don't think hes in too much discomfort. But clearly he is when trying to eat.I just hope whatever is troubling Squeekie that he starts feeling better enough to want to eat by himself. I hope Squeekie's doing okay this morning, and that you can iron out any queries about his meds. Thanks Treen and yes I had quite a lengthy talk with Aiden about the meds I'd never used before. He said they are well established for guinea pigs. He has alot of guinea pigs coming through the practice unlike a cat and dog vet with it being an Avian and Exotic animal clinic so I decided to trust his judgement .The vets sounds like a mini jungle with parrots etc making noises. Aiden does update himself alot about small animal medicines too so hes not an 'old school vet' sort of thing. Hiya! Val - sorry Jackie didnt get to do an update last night... I might have been on the phone to her for ages! Phew yes, 6 hours I was on the phone saying, yes but no but, I'll really have to go lol

Hi Jackie, I hope Squeekie's doing okay this morning, and that his appetite is starting to return. Aiden sounds great - it's brilliant when you find an experienced vet who is also happy to explain and discuss their decisions.

How is Squeekie today? I hope he's doing well and the meds start working soon. What's their cage arrangement? Sorry, I've forgotten. Just wondering if they're free range and I've missed something. ;D

Thanks so much everyone for asking after my Squeekie and Anna for the phone call. I feel as though Squeekie has been in intensive care these last 24 hours but not at the vets but home. Squeekie's tum has setlled now but Squeekie developed bloat and his tum was going into stasis so its been an awful 24 hours. He's pooping more now, although they are still small but he did manage one normal size poop. Its thanks to Wendi's advice from Thistle Cavies rescue that thankfully Squeekie started improving at 2am this morning. As well as me massaging Squeekies tum, Wendi told me how to tap under his tum too and it acted like a little vibrater so I'm convinced that helped too. Plus olive oil which I had in. I was watching the whole of Kramer v's Kramer last night while Squeekie was lying on me and looking relaxed, enjoying the relief the massage and tapping gave him. I've never been so happy to feel a squichy tum and not a hard/hollow one. I just hope it stays that way. Karen has also been giving me valued advice and information so I'm really grateful to both Wendi and Karen. I'll let you know how Squeekie gets on and thanks again everyone for rooting for him.
