Having said I thought Zuul looked big, now I see her next to those big shiny bunnies - they look massive too!

I think my Freddie weighed about 15 pounds. He was a BIG bunny, and all white!
Zuul is such a gorgeous dog! Love that she is getting along with the others so well.

I joined a Doberman Forum to learn more about the breed, and it is the worst bunch of people I have ever encountered!!! What a bunch of hate filled jerks - they need to take a lesson form Wheekers!

Rubbish! They're clearly not proper animal lovers and just breed-obsessed. There are definitely things which require some serious discussion, but otherwise I love that folk on this forum are lighthearted and fun. Hope you told you them how unimpressed you were and deleted your profile!

YES, I told them that they were extremely rude and I hoped their dogs had better manners!!! I have never like 'breed-people' and their 'my dog is better than your mutt' attitude. That forum proved that all my inclinations were valid. I really felt like pointing out that their "pure blood doberman" is really a "designer dog" and IS A MIX of numerous dogs. The founder of the 'breed' worked at an animal pound and used STRAY DOGS to create his own type of dog. Can't people just like dogs regardless? Unless you are a cat person I can't understand the bashing of any type of dog. - lol

I know - who cares if their spots are in the wrong place, or whatever? To me, its no different to racism or homophobia or similar amongst humans. It's just total snobbery and prejudice and is all wrong. I have nothing against folk being keen on particular breeds but not if that includes the derision and exclusion of anything which doesn't quite fit.
Delight in being a bit odd and different - I do!

Well said Wee Silvie. Way back when I was a child a Spaniel puppy was going to be destroyed because she had a white star on her forehead and therefore no good for breeding. Luckily the pet shop owner we visited took her in. It is just disgrateful.

Ears looking at you, kid! Zuul keeps getting bigger, she has lost all front baby teeth and two upper baby k-9 teeth...still teething and is now chewing on anything she can get her paws on! Zuul also has a new martingale collar - pink with strawberries, so cute! She still looks tiny next to the buns...

Aw, great pictures. I want to snuggle both of them. Zuul is a truly gorgeous dog.
I had one pure bred dog, a pure bred mix!!! Dad got loose and visited mom down the street, and we got a beautiful puppy from our neighbor!!! Only had one true pure bred, and she had so many issues, she didn't work for us at all. We found her a fabulous forever home, though, and I think she'd forgotten us before she left the yard!

I don't know if its the breed, or the personality, but I do like Zuul. So far she has had a few skin issues, its common in blues - their fur is thinner and not as dense as reds or blacks. So shell get sun block in the summers. I don't know if she has allergies but that also works hand in hand with skin issues. Growing up I guess I had a pure poodle...but she was a toy x mniture...so she didn't really fit the breed standards of either - lol I have never thought of her as a breed, just a dog.
My neighbor has a Boston, and she has all sorts if health issues. I do think that mixs have a good dip in the gene pool.

It has been a very bad month for my zoo.
I have lost ALL (30+) of my pond fish & koi due to a Heron feeding frenzy - Little Fish was 10 years old!!! Truffles, my second hatched dove (11/24/08) suddenly died - she may have fallen off her roost at night. Suchimu, my 14 year old cat went to sleep and never woke up.
RIP Fishies RIP Truffles RIP Suchimu

I'm so sorry. That really is a very bad month. I've seen koi ponds with some type of netting over them to keep birds from eating the fish. I don't know much about fish at all, but would something like that help you in the future?

Oh Jeannine love, I am so sorry to hear this news. Little Fish sounds a poppet, I love Koi carp; they get to know you. He is resting in peace with Truffles and Suchimu and one day, you will all see each other again
Lots of comforting vibes are on their way.
Hugs
