I'm makuing this thread for us all to share those clever little tricks around the house that comes In handy. I also read some where about keeping something In your house keeps away moths but I forgot what that something was. Now the summers here, every night I see moths chasing me around the house . I am soooo scared of moths I hate them. So anybody have any good tips for moths please feel free to let me know. coca cola -bleach O.k here's a handy tip for anyone who tips their flat coke down the sink. In future tip It down the toilet as It acts like a bleach and does wonders.
Lemonade- flowers Next time someone buys you flowers (in my next life) lol. When they start dying put a quarter of a cup of lemonade in with the water and It prolongs the life and makes them last longer. You can even do this If you have proper plant food. This Is still the best way.
chalk board rubber = mirrors This Is pretty pointless as It's not something you can go and buy from the shop. If one of your children accidentally comes home with one of those chalk board rubbers ,when they aren't looking swipe It from them as this Is excellent for showing and removing smears or smudges on mirrors. The good point Is there's no work involved. In seconds you can clean mirrors using one of these.
hmmm.... last one for now
Chalk - shines brass e.t.c If you have any chalk laying around It's great for making things like the handles on your door If they are like that goldcolor or brass. Just rub the chalk over the handle and smother it in chalk then get a dry clean cloth and wipe it all off again and It brings the handles up shining lovely like they have never looked before.

I go mad If someone comes In the house and takes to long to close the door when It's dark. I'm paranoid I always close windows before night comes. Every night when josh goes asleep they start to appear. I don't mind If josh Is awake because he gets them for me lol. I'm like a Pansy screaming running around the house. I think they will get stuck In my hair...ohhhhh shivers

Not even if you tied cloths to the soles of their shoes so they accidentally cleaned the floor as they walked?!

Treen, we REALLY used to do that to the kids at the school for naughty boys where I used to work! And wait 'til Alex starts crawling- you can clean the floors with the front of his little onesies! My floors were never cleaner than when my babies were scooting around on them!

Oh I have a tip to add.
I don't know if anyone uses SOS pads (or steel wool) but I love them for cleaning pots. Well I used to throw them away after one use otherwise they would rust and I would be left with a big rusty mess to clean up. Now I just put them in a ziploc bag and pop them in the door of my freezer. The water freezes and so they don't rust. When I want to use them again I just run them under warm water for a few seconds and they ready to use again.

Ummm if you can stand the smell Mothballs are what you use to get rid of moths ...lol. Also if you spread them around the outside of your home they keep most insects and snakes away. Try using cedar wood chips and plant lavender in flower beds close to the windows and doors. As a final piece of advice, moths are attracted to the light because they believe it is the moon. So if you leave a light on and the door open, they will come in the house. If we leave our door open in the summer, we hang an insect zapper over the point of entry, because this itself contains a light, they are attracted to it and 'poof' no more moth. You can buy these zappers from most garden and hardware stores. Good Luck!

Where can I get moth balls from? I think I'll have a few of those, sounds the trick to keep them out. I got a zapper but I hear them being zapped about 10 times before poping their clogs and It does my head In not knowing if they are dead or not,

They last for months and months. I am sorry, I don't know how much that is in US currency. I guess if u like flowers go with the lavender and cedar mulch. Cedar is not only harmful for pigs but most insects too!
