The cedar wood chips people use in there flower beds. Its a type of mulch . Like shavings for bedding, but bigger chunks.

That's a good point... people use it in dog beds to repel fleas.

oh pooh! But they work wonders. I especially like the lavender it attracks butterflies and good insects and smells nice. Tip: I know some of you do this already, but when I use towels or vet bed and worry about the lent and bits of bedding getting in the wash I just use a dust vaccum cleaner, (The small handheld varieties like Dust Buster) to vaccum up the mess before I wash.

Half? Lets play cleaning lady....theis week my house next week yours. LOL Also....don't throw away those old baby blankets ot cotton sweat shirts. Cut off the sleeves for tunnels during play time and the rest into squares...they make great temporary bedding. Also they are harder to chew and shread up.

Sassy!! Ok here's a tip for mom and dads of piggies. If you use dryer sheets it can leave a film over the lint catcher. Once or twice a week take it out and wash it with warm soapy water, cleaning gently with a toothbrush. Once the water runs through the wire mesh the film is gone. This helps your dryer heat better and extends its life longer, so it won't be struggling to exhaust the heat. (I didnt believe it at first until I ran water over the lint catcher and there was hardly any water coming out. After I was done it looked like a food drainer. Water came out easily.)

Also: Shaving creme gets out most blood stains. If you are worried about pesticides and wax on your veggies use baking soda when you wash them. Cmoths-cloves,cedar wood, lemon verbena or French marigold might act as repellents, clean pesticides off food by rinsing with vinegar or tiny amount of housegrade hydrogen peroxide, vinegar or newspaper cleans chrome, lavender, citronella, pennyroyal, feverfew and pyrethrum might repel mosquitoes, if you have a microwave, you may want to put some rice in a cotton sock and nuke it for less than a minute and use it as a hot compress for sinus headaches. okay thats all for now. I have tons more!!

keep them coming! ;D
*use a baby wipe to clean up kiddies book covers
*distilled vinegar kills 90% bacteria and 80% germs, so u dont need to buy expensive disinfectant.Keep in a spray bottle, and use as u would the other product, the smell of vinegar evaporates quite soon.
*put a cotten wool ball with a few drop of essential oil on into the vac, every time u vac a lovely scent is there.
*put a few drop of essential oil on the the ironboard cover, let it dry and when u iron the heat from this will scent your linen.
*toothpaste removes ink stain, rub in,then wash.
*use washingmachine only for full loads,it uses the same amount electric as 1/2 load, & l use 1/2 the amount of powder now and washing is still as good

*use a baby wipe to clean up kiddies book covers Better than using them on babies bums - I used some Pampers ones from my freebie pack I got at the hospital and poor Alex got nappy rash!

I know! It only lasted a day but it looked sore! He'd not had it before and hasn't had it since so I'll stick to my cotton wool and warm water!
