Yes pampers are known to cause Nappy rash It's terrible they are given out In hospital as they are no good for young babies at all. They are too scented. Cotton wool and water Is best but time consuming. If you need wipes , when your out for the day try cheapy ones Treen. I found them alot better than any of the expensive ones when It comes to causing nappy rash. What did you use to clear him ? I found bathing them and leaving them have a long soak worked wonders and sudocrem Is very good I just left his nappy off as much as I could and used a tiny bit of sudocrem (which was also in the hospital pack, so at least they help you heal the mess they cause lol). It didn't last long but it looked so sore! I didn't like the idea of wipes before as even the unscented ones smelt and I didn't like the fact they left behind a residue on their skin. But these were 'sensitive' ones apparently so I thought I'd give them a whirl for using out and about. Never again - think I'll use them to clean the bathroom now! I will look out for some really plain ones though, for using when I'm out as cotton wool and warm water is fine at home, but trickier elsewhere. Buttbalm lol - I like it!

You know my opinions on body hair, so I'll thank you to not even joke about me having hairy underarms!
Any more baby tips, or of things to avoid?! We're not really using anything product-wise on him yet - he just has water in his baths and if he has any bits of dry skin we use olive oil. His skin is soft and delicious enough naturally!

When my little boy got a very bad rash (not my fault mind you), we couldnt put anything on it so I went and got plain petrolium jelly, and smeared it on his *cough* you know and little bum. It kept him dry and its unscented and is all natural. I couldnt use baby wipes to much on my youngest he was allergic to everything!! I just kept zipplock bags full of squares of old t-shirts I cut up or frabric I bought and a bottle of water with a squirt cap. Whenever it was changing time I would squirt the water in the baggy get the towelette wet, ring it out, swipe, swipe and throw away or stuff back in the baggy for a wash later.

Do you use talc on him Treen?
Have you heard of Daktaran oral gel? It's an orange flavour mouth gel and It's a luscious orange taste. I found this a lifesaver when buby Mgirl was teething and waking through the night crying in pain. Just put a tiny dab on top of her dummy and she'd suck the life out of her dummy and fall back to sleep.
Another one for when he's on solids and you start spoon feeding him. When I used to feed buby Mgirl she often used to find It amusing to blow bubbles after a spoon full of food reached her miouth, which wasn't at all amusing when your wearing their dinner lol. Then I found If I put a spoonful of food in her mouth quickly followed by her dummy she had no choice and had to eat it. This comes In handy for little ones that don't have a very good appetite too
Also when I was spoon feeding, her hands used to knock the spoon flying and food every where. I got her both hands and held them In my one hand ,which made meal times much quicker and cleaner lol.

What exactly is a sthingy? A spoon? LOL..........I love those little bibs that have the little food catcher trays at the bottom. I did that also Mgirl....with the oral gel and "dummy" (pacifier, binky, paccy) and it would work occasionally, but they wouldn't hardly ever use one so I would freeze a washcloth in the freezer and put a dab on one end and let them chew away...a bit messy from all the drool, but the cold numbs the gumbs. Also the little biter biscuits (cookies) helped when they were cold out of the fridge.
