73 days till Christmas.... Good grief - pack that in! In Wyoming Autumn has already come and gone. While I was there the trees changed beautiful shades of colors. The week after I left they had snow three times. On the other hand, here in Florida, Autumn hasn't hit at all. It is still quite warm here. You know, Bean, the more you protest the more I'm tempted to torture you...Jingle Bells, jingle bells...

My kids have got choir practise tonight so they've already got the whole Christmas song angle covered for you today!
It's been very cold, wet and windy here - hard to enjoy that really!

Jingle All the Way wee hee, aren't we naughty LOL? I love the colours of autumn and I think each season has its own beauty. I hope you are feeling better Cookie love. Went to Slimming World this morning and have lost a pound, I would rather it be several stone but at least it isn't a gain.

Ok Jo, you are the second person to have mentioned this stone weight thing. I'm like what?!? You measure by stone weight? How does that work? Inquiring minds want to know.

You missed the British Invasion of 60s rock band who all listed their weight in stone, SiLamb A pound is good, Jo. Even one at a time adds up over time. The hols are everywhere, already. I had an animatronic witch swing out from beside a light tree and cackle at me. Scared the stuffing out of me! The turkeys aren't getting their fair share of time

There are 14 pounds to a stone love and we have always said it in stones and pounds where as I know with you it is pounds only.
Thank you piggles love, it is better than nothing, I just wish I could be really good all the time and loose a lot more.

Thanks Jo. I had to look up the history (inquiring mind wanted to know) and found this and copied it for my other American friends who might also be curious...
"stone, British unit of weight for dry products generally equivalent to 14 pounds avoirdupois (6.35 kg), though it varied from 4 to 32 pounds (1.814 to 14.515 kg) for various items over time. Originally any good-sized rock chosen as a local standard, the stone came to be widely used as a unit of weight in trade, its value fluctuating with the commodity and region. In the 14th century England’s exportation of raw wool to Florence necessitated a fixed standard. In 1389 a royal statute fixed the stone of wool at 14 pounds and the sack of wool at 26 stones. Trade stones of variant weights persist, such as the glass stone of 5 pounds. The stone is still commonly used in Britain to designate the weights of people and large animals."
Jo, I agree with Piggles, any amount of weight going down is a positive sign.

I had an animatronic witch swing out from beside a light tree and cackle at me. Scared the stuffing out of me! Sorry, but that did make me chuckle! Jo if you're not being really good all the time and are still losing weight, then that's great! And don't they say that the slower it comes off, the more likely you are to be able to sustain it? Just keep up the good work! Looks like a rain-free day today - quick, get your washing out!

Rainy today and tomorrow, though it's a relief from the hot and soupy air of the last couple of days. We took the a/c out when temps dropped into the 30s, so the last couple of nights have been bad for sleeping. Even with fans running, we couldn't cool the room enough to get comfy. I really shouldn't complain when my SoCal friends are celebrating temps below 90F Stone apparently set the standard for those weights used on scales. I can imagine a merchant with a two-sided scale, putting his "official" stones on one side, to determine weight. Most people never left their local areas back then, so wouldn't have noticed uf value was a lot better using someone else's stone

Thanks fr that Silamb love, I must admit I never thought of explaining it in detail like that, thanks very much. It is true Bean love, if it comes off slowly in theory it should stay off but I think it depends on what your week has been like. Thanks for your encouragement love, it is much appreciated.
A rather grisly day here today and Felix, my cat, doesn't want to go out. I can't wait to start smelling peoples' real fires as they light them in winter.

Piggles, so true...it would drive me nuts if stones on varying weights where the standard for that very reason. Jo, my pleasure. Today the temp was in the low 80s today and the humidity was dropping. The sky is a beautiful with cotton ball clouds. Beautiful day. On Thursdays I help a lady from my church who is fighting cancer. She had an ear infection that has destroyed her balance so she can't be left alone for long. After that I stopped by Uhaul to get the quilt that Piggles recommended. I got a call from hubby. He left his lights on in his car so his battery was dead. He then got so frustrated at himself that he then accidentally locked his keys in the car. Me to the rescue

Poor hubby! Those days seem to snowball into disasters. I'm glad you could help. Hubby works an hour away, snd even if my hands decided to manage that much driving, I can't drive in the dark. He'd have to get a ride home, and I could go in with him the next morning.
I'm glad you were able to help the lady from your church. It's hard to be dependent on others.

Oh no, poor hub! Glad you were on hand to save the day!
My friend lost her keys while she was out, so had to get a locksmith to let her in and then decided they should change all the locks, just to be careful. Just after the locksmith had finished, she found the keys had been in her coat pocket all along - she was gutted!

Ooh, I would have been kicking myself, too! I have only locked my keys in the car once, but it was a big enough hassle to make me be more careful. I'd like to get those locators for the keys and phones. Then we can just beep them and have them beep back!

So funny story about when hubby and I were just friends and hanging out a lot...He must have distracted me so much because within a few months I had locked myself out of my car four times. It got to a point that I gave him a spare key to rescue me next time since I had used up my AAA benefit.

Love didn't help my figure. I always cooked, but took most of it to work, so I didn't eat a lot. Cooking for a hubby or family keeps the food at home, and the demands for more are constant Good for the ego, but hard on the waistline
