Aw, those pictures are adorable Happy Valentines Day, everyone We have another blizzard and foot of snow starting later today through late tomorrow, so we're getting our shopping and errands done before that, and we'll stay in once it starts snowing. It's a balmy 15 degrees, which means lite, fluffy snow, again. Lots more problems from blowing snow than from falling snow. Winter isn't done with us, yet!

Ooh, very nice indeed, Jo Glad you had a great Valentines Day The first real NASCAR races of the season were on TV yesterday, so we did some shopping, got home and snuggled in to watch racing. I have a group of friends on Facebook, from around the US, who are all NASCAR fans, one starts a post for each race, and we all comment. Hubby isn't part of the group, but he gets to participate on my phone Nice way to spend a stormy Valentines Day, snuggled up in the snug watching racing

Not to bad thank you love but there is room for a little improvement. Thanks for the tip Bootygurl, I will remember that for the future. Hugs JO xx ^^was that a delayed response to a previous post or did I lose my mind and not remember what I posted? Lol Today its a balmy -24°C plus the wind factor. Cars won't even start. Snowing about 2inches a day since the beginning of February. Fiance made me pork loin roast & roasted red and yellow baby potatoes for dinner Valentine's day and then we made a red and purple dinner for the furbabies! Red pepper, mashed red potatoes (for the ones who can have potato), raspberries, eggplant, and apple! It was very quiet for some time after we served it. Booty loves her red pepper. I had to switch because her skin started to look pinker which may have been in my head but gave her some green pepper and carrots a few days last week. Chi-chi is in routine and now can be the mouthy one when I come in with the potential to be fed. She stays out of the house and watches me. Booty hangs indoors until she knows there's food cuz that big scary 11lb dog comes in too haha.

It was below freezing in Daytona, Florida, last night. Daytona is in the middle of Florida, so it was colder in the northern part of Florida. This cold, and even snow, hit most of the southern states. They totally aren't used to it. One news station was saying that Boston has over 500 snow plows/sanders, while a city in the south that has the same population, has 14 plows. I know they don't get it very often, but when they do, I'm sure they wish they had more equipment. Daughter, granddaughter, housemate and all his relatives drove to Florida to take a cruise out of Miami. They got there early, with the plan to enjoy the beaches. She posted from the Florida Keys, the southernmost point, and said even there, it was 60 degrees, with a breeze. The Peanut was wearing a coat and scarf, standing on a dock in Florida I hope their cruise is warmer!

I would love to live in San Francisco, CA. It has normal temps between 50 and 70, which is right where I'm happiest. I do wish we didn't have to get excessive heat to not have bitter cold, or vice versa.

I agree love, I don't like the very hot weather but I like to feel the sun on me. I never used to be bothered about the cold but as I am getting older, I am feeling it more.

We have continued an average of 2in per day though we got one day of meltling this week which created lots of ice later in the evening. We have a 1ft ice block around the edge of our roof, guess we need to look at repalcing our drainage around the roof this summer. We are staying warm and keeping the critters nice and toasty. Lots of snuggle time for all. Booty has gotten lots of time with my fiance this weekend as he usually works 60hr work weeks and this week was a normal 40hr. She just loves him now. Cries out when she hears his voice. Its super cute. Chi-chi is a Momma's girl! Love my little snowy white girl. She is so pure white now that Booty is helping groom her and she's for sure eating well.

Aw, that's so sweet that she's loving her new home I'm glad she's doing so well Our condo neighbors are having terrible leaking problems from the ice dams. We have ice dams, but no leaking. One neighbor said her bedroom wall bowed out, then popped and spewed water all over her room The condo maintenance company isn't very helpful. They have no intention of doing any repairs until at least April, and that's when they will assess all the reported repairs, and schedule them for repair sometime before next winter. That happened in the ice storms of 2008-9, and not only did they charge us the condo associations insurance deductible, the repairs were terrible. We'll have to hire a contractor to redo them, before we list the house in a couple of years. Pretty bad service, really, but it may be typical of condos. I don't know. Temps got up to 40, and we had major melting. We should probably salt the front steps, or hubby may slide right of into space in the morning. Back in the deep freeze tomorrow, with subzero wind chills, but back up around freezing again Wednesday. We're in that stage, where we have just enough thawing days to remind us that spring is coming Bootygirl, I hope you don't have to replace your gutters. Once the ice dams thaw, I think ours will be as good as they were before, which was just passable at best.

Sorry the ice is causing so many problems to people's property.
It is nice to think about spring coming. This morning we noticed the crocuses are coming out at the park, and the daffodils are flowering too (they emerged a bit early so we thought they might suffer in the next cold snap, but they seem to be okay). Looking forward to it!

Last month and earlier this month, we had not as bitter cold with snow, or bitter cold without snow. Now we're seeing the warmer weather spikes. Same pattern, but not getting as cold, not getting as much snow, getting melting instead of just days when we could breathe without our sinuses freezing. I love to see the first flowers of the spring. I'm glad they are up at your park. I have some in my front garden, but we have to thaw 6 feet of plowed and shoveled snow before we get to them. It will be a grand sight when we do

Ours daffs are thinking about coming out soon love, I always think of them as an Easter flower. I know they are pretty hardy but hope we don't get a severe frost.
