Happy February, everyone! Getting ready to watch the Super Bowl. I have friends in the UK digging out of snow, and others cycling by the beach. I hope everyone has a great February

Here in Ontario Canada its a snowy February 1st! Hasn't stopped falling since friday. Today is warmer but thicker snow. About 1ft accumulation from this morning (approx 12 hrs) steadily falling and the city is behind keeping up with it. Our street won't likely see a plow until Wednesday as the main roads need work still and we are always last to see the plows!
I'm not a big (american) football fan, I dated too many footballers and the sport is spoiled for me. I'm looking forward to National Cupcake Day and our local shelters fundraiser Adoption Days which my store participates in! Our store has a chocolate bar cupcake theme including Skor, Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles and also cupcakes for pets. I am making a vegetarian option safe for all creatures from dogs to mice!

Watching the Super Bowl here too. Well, sort of...I don't really have any vested interest in which team wins. I'm just waiting til it's over because the new episode of Blacklist will be airing. That's my new favorite show!
We're under a blizzard warning here today. Started snowing late last night, and hasn't stopped. I don't know how many inches so far, because it's very windy and drifting alot. In some areas it was up to my knees, in other areas only about 6 inches or so. I spent about an hour and a half this afternoon snowblowing, but it's not too cold out, so it wasn't that bad. Tomorrow's supposed to get much colder I hear. This is the biggest snowfall we've had so far this winter, so I guess we're long overdue!
National Cupcake Day...mmmm, I just love cupcakes!!! Do you work at a bakery Bootygurl?

I'd not heard of National Cupcake Day either, but am all for it!
Looks like the game was a bit of a nail biter at the end?
How come dating footballers put you off it, bootygurl? Because you learned stuff about the game that spoiled it for you, or you find it too annoying seeing your exes faces pop up every 10 minutes?!
We had a mild day in Friday which melted all the snow. Not much since then but there's a cold wind which isn't going anywhere so not lots of fun being outdoors. Hope all those with lots of snow stay safe and warm and still get to do the things they need to do.

I totally missed National Cupcake Day, though I made cupcakes last week, so I'm not too far behind. I don't get out much on my own, and with the Super Bowl shopping craziness, this wasn't a great weekend for me to go out, anyway. I thought it was the best Super Bowl I've seen, at least that I remember seeing. I was rooting for both teams, so it was a special game for me. I have my Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champions hoodie from last year, and just ordered the Patriots ones for hubby and me, for this year. We had a great time. I love soccer, or what everyone else calls football, too. Our local team has two players on the US Mens National Team, which is nice. Our area of the US has the most soccer fans tuned in to games regularly. Not too shabby I don't think I'd want to date one of them, though. All sports players have to go through a general roller coaster ride of emotions, depending on how they perform and how their teammates perform. Being married to a software engineer is bad enough, lol Now I feel like making cupcakes. Go figure

The reason it put me off was the general aggressive nature of footballers. They are also smelly, and I don't miss doing laundry of sweaty football gear.
National Cupcake Day is Feb 23rd I believe. So you haven't missed it yet!

The weather was crazy today. Nearly 4ft of snow in some places. My street has not seen a plow yet!! They have been working over 36hrs straight trying to keep up with main roads and emergency routes. Car got stuck 4 times trying to get to work.

In addition to National Cupcake Day, it's Chinese New Year coming up in a couple of weeks so we'll have to make a special meal for that one!
Haha! Smelly, aggressive men who don't do their own washing? What a treat that sounds - I'll take 5 please!
4ft of snow - wow! Hope you're not too exhausted from digging your car out of the snow a few times, bootygurl - if only you had a strapping football player handy to give you a push? Your loss eh?!

Haha I have an ex-army, security guard now. He does quite well with the shovelling and had been driving me to and from work in this mess. My car is buried for now. Today seems to be melting a bit so should be able to dig it out tomorrow

Oh Bootygurl love, I hope you are OK. I am not very well today, I think I may have eaten something which doesn't agree with me or it is the damned pills again.

Sorry you're having a bad day, Jo. Extra snuggles with the animals will be needed and hope tomorrow is a better day. Haha I have an ex-army, security guard now. That should do the trick then! And I bet he's much tidier and cleaner than the footballers too if he's ex-army!

Yes very organized which helps keep me more sane when I have extreme OCD. He knows not to move stuff without telling me and he's good at keeping things in order. I am about to go tackle digging out my car. Should be a smashing good time *sarcasm* Jo, I hope whatever is bugging your belly moves along soon. Try some apple cider vinegar. Can help settle your tummy naturally just a tablespoon in a bottle of water and drink up! Will clear out what ails you. Or coconut oil, just a teaspoon. Cleanses the system

I have read about both the apple cider vinegar and the coconut oil. I have the apple cider vinegar, as I use it to make my own hair conditioner. I may try that, myself, as my innards periodically decide not to cooperate. I hope you are feeling better, Jo Sorry about the OCD, as I have a mild case. I need neatness, but not to the point of no one moving things. I just need thing put away right away, not left around, so the place is always tidy. Hard with an ADHD hubby, and being ADHD myself. I'm glad you have a friend who understands, and is willing to work with you Good luck with the car

Only took 40 minutes lastnight had to shovel around the car, clear the car off, shovel that away then get the car moved closer to the end of the drive where it was better shoveled. Snowed again 6inches overnight so had to unbury the car again and fight down our yet again unplowed street. My OCD is quite severe. I have learned to deal with some things and thankfully germs are not one of my OCD things or I probably wouldn't have animals. But smell pollution is something I can't stand and need to rectify if it becomes strong I will stay up til 2 am sometimes cleaning every cage to ensure the smell is gone. And everything has a place and is in it. I am not "tidy" all the time and I think thats a misconception that if you like things tidy its OCD. Its more you have an idea of what things should look, smell, feel like and if they don't you have this inner absolute need to move it, change it or get away from it. It's not always gotta be cleaning though. Like my "walk-in closet" I know exactly where everything is though it looks like my dryer vomited in that room. Things are folded and somewhat organized but if my fiance were to go in there and move anything or do laundry and put it away it would screw with my inner ability of knowing exactly where something is. I have a photographic memory with a large storage capacity. Lol There are stores I cannot go in like bath shops and perfume stores because of the mixture of smells. It drives me up the wall! Or at work if there is collars or leashes they must be in order of size and I will have make it right. My boss doesn't mind it obviously. Finally have a day off tomorrow and I am going to a town about 45 mins away to pick up Booty's new cagemate a smooth hair albino girl of 6 months. From an oopsie litter. So hard to choose which one to take as they also had Abyssinians. But I have a soft spot for the genetically special ones. I will attempt to figure out how to post photos when we get her home.

Sorry you have to contend with OCD - are the techniques you've learned to help you cope something you've done on your own or with help? Glad your chap is understanding anyway, must make a big difference.
That sounds like a lot of shovelling to me, especially if it then snowed again - how rude! Do you tend to swap your car's tyres to winter tyres over there? We don't get reliably bad enough winters for it to be worth it - many are so mild for the most part, that winter tyres would be a hindrance!
Exciting news on the new piggy - keep us posted!

I have seen a counsellor over the years and have been given tips by them on how to cope. Some things I did do on my own. Learned what my triggers are and try to work around them.
Around here in late October or early November most people get winter tires put on. We also "all season" tires which work ok if it only ever just dusts snow but useless in weather like this. But yes we do get winter tires popped on for the season. It's been pretty mild this winter and we only got a few bad days before Christmas and this week. The rest have been pretty clear or the snow has melted by morning.
Jo, I hope you get feeling better. I have a bit of the upset stomach happening today. Ita my day off work so I guess thats a plus. Just hope it relaxes enough for our little trip to pick up piggie girl.
