Another blast from the past- my trip to the Chicago Botanical Gardens in 2007! You can see my daughter as well as my brother and his girlfriend (who would be his wife in about two years)
Aw Vicki was so little and cute, and you two couples seemed to have such bright futures ahead of you. Is that the same brother who lives with your parents, or do you have more than one brother?
The botanical gardens are gorgeous. They would be totally zen, if not for the people.

I have two brothers, the one in the video is my younger sibling. My older brother isn't much for family gatherings.
I also forgot to mention that some of these pics were taken on separate trips, so that's why my clothes change in some shots. My buddy Ken shows up in one picture (the one where we look like were sparring in the Japanese section!)

Cute video, I love the sense of wonder that's quite clear in how Vicki interacts with the sheet fountain (in particular). The poppies are so pretty too.
Yes, the sense of wonder and awe in Vicki was adorable <3 Too bad we can't bottle some of that, and dump it on them when they really their terrible teens
I'll have to go back through the video. I don't remember Ken being there, but I can't remember what I ate for dinner last night, either

Ken is in a brief shot where I'm throwing a kick in his direction. We were clowning around for the shot, no actual anger involved.
My favorite part of Vicki's fascination with the fountain is that she wants everyone to experience it as well. You can see her walking up to us and taking everyone's hand, leading us to the fountain so we can feel the water, too.

I don't think I've seen that film, but it's a cute video. I love the picture where your daughter's got her head pressed up against your camera and is looking back down the lens at you!
It looks like you hung out there for a while from how the lighting changes?
Oh, you must see Field of Dreams! It's a superb film, even if you don't care much about baseball. I know I don't. yet my father insisted I see the film with him back in 1988. It was a magical experience, not to be missed!
A corn farmer in Iowa is standing outside inspecting his crop when he hears a voice telling him, "If you build it, they will come". He gets a vision of a baseball field in the middle of his corn crop, and feels compelled to build it. His neighbors advise him not to, as he's reducing his output by putting in a baseball diamond (field). Still, he goes ahead and from there the story takes him on a journey that I won't spoil, as there are many pleasant surprises throughout.
We got there as the sun was setting, so the light was fading fast. I think we were there about a half hour or so, with the place pretty much to ourselves. When we returned in 2019, it was the afternoon and there were groups of people engaged in an actual game of baseball, so we hung around the cornfields instead.
Vicki developed a habit of walking up to the camera and putting her face right up to the lens for years, it was an endearing trait I loved to see her do.
My favorite shot was Vicki looking down the lens at you taking the picture <3 She's so cute <3
Build it, and they will come <3

Just uploading more stuff- this is from 2018, my trip to Gettysburg. I opted to make this particular video more of a documentary and not a fun family affair. (It just didn't seem appropriate.)
Very well done, and very informative. I love seeing the landscape as it was during the battle. It would be terrible to have a housing project, industrial park or Walmart in the view. The whole park would lose it's timeless effect. Great job

We didn't have time to do the full tour, which would have taken several hours- it was a short trip and we still needed to cover two more areas of interest that day! So, we hit the most critical areas and got the essential footage I needed to tell the story. It works, in my opinion.
This is another video of our 2017 Arizona trip to the Petrified Forest. It's also the final video of the trip, so it ends with a glorious sunset.
