Oh that session sounds like a bit of a damp squib, and I'm sorry you didn't really feel that welcome. 10 minutes doesn't sound like long?
Perhaps knowing what to expect next week (in terms of the changing room and how foxy you will look in your cossie!) means you will feel more relaxed going in and might be able to get a little bit more from it? I really hope it gives you some relief, but at least you're giving it a try.
Oooh I haven't written birthdays in my new diary yet - must get onto that!

Are you doing hydrotherapy in a swimming pool, doing exercises or walking around, or are you using a whirlpool bath for the therapy. The swimming pool therapy allows you to really work the muscles and joints without doing them any harm. You can walk a short distance in a swimming pool, and without feeling the burn or the pain, have accomplished what a much longer walk would have given you on land. Just keeping the muscles and joints working with low resistance exercises has been proven to help with many types of pain. Perhaps if you are less stressed the next time, you'll enjoy it better. You haven't been a pig, you just aren't a size 0 anymore, and you can't exercise the way size 0s can. Those days are behind both of us, and I don't look any better in a bathing suit. Beached whale fits me, too. I do love the bathing suit I bought last summer, and will probably try to get another one, as it's a loose fitting tunic-type with separate pants. I'm still large, but I'm not crammed into a typical suit that points out exactly how large I am. Perhaps a tank top and shorts would work just as well as a bathing suit, and you would be more comfortable. Sadly, once mobility becomes a problem, we're going to have trouble maintaining a preferred weight, because we can't exercise very much. If we lived on 300 calories a day, we'd look great until we starved to death. Wear what makes you comfortable, and that doesn't mean you have to buy a new bathing suit just to get therapy. Not arriving for therapy naked is all that's really required I hope the next visit goes better <3 Jo, do you have Outlook on your computer? If you are running a computer with a Microsoft operating system, it's probably on your computer somewhere. Look for a Start or Start Up menu. It's going to be with your sytem icons (the pictures of applications usually on the bottom or side of your computer screen), and it looks like a window with four panes of glass and nothing holding the panes in place. If you have an older system, it may still say START. Once in there, look for Outlook. It's a program that allows you to enter appointments and events, set reminders that buzz you, etc. You do have to leave the computer turned on, or you won't hear the reminder buzzes I also have one called Cozy, on my system, that does the same thing, so you might have that. Cozy seems to be a group of applications to do different things, from keeping shopping lists to listing and reminding you of events and appointments. Both should be free, as you paid for them in the bundle of products you paid for when you bought your computer system. Good luck

I think I will be more relaxed next week Bean love, now that I know the procedure, routine and where everything is. Oh sweetie, Foxy, me in a bathing suit? I look like the Michelin Man LOL!!
You are right puggles love, it does help without putting any strain on your muscles. Once I was in there I dud a series of exercises like standing on tip toe and knee bends, all of which I was rubbish at but I still did it.
Thank you for that lovely paragraph love, yes we are limited to what we do and weight will always be a problem. I have tried doing the exercises very slowly at home to see if that will help me too. My cossie has a little skirt on it which is frilled and on anyone else it would look pretty. Yours sounds nice hun. Yes, if we starved to death you are right, that is what I would have to do to lose weight, eat next to nothing. I have done it before when I have been out at work but then i would come home and exercise also and it worked.
I don't remember seeing Outlook on here but I will have a look. Thank you darlings for your kind help and advice.
Hugs JO xx

That is really nice Piggles love, not unlike mine only mine has more of a skirt. Mine to, as you say, covers most of the problems but I still would love to be thinner LOL! I would love a private pool more than anything and like you, I would exercise in it several times a day. That is a great idea Piggles, I am going to ask if our baths hold an exercise class.

I hope the baths do have a pool/exercise classes. Obviously, the facilities are nicer at the expensive places, but the aquatic exercise is the same in any pool

I don't know if it's generally offered in all pools but you could ask about women-only sessions.

Here in the US, I've never heard of women-only sessions, unless the pool is in a womens-only gym, such as the YWCA. There are so many anti-segregation laws now, I don't think anyone dares have single-sex sessions. That may be different in the UK.

There used to be a women only swimming session at my local pool (which is run by the council), but I just checked and it's not on anymore. I know private gyms that have saunas etc often have women only sessions, no men only ones though! It's probably different if it's a private establishment. There are still a few bowling clubs etc in the county that are men only.

People in the UK don't sue the way Americans do, and the number of people who sue over the slightest perceived wrong seems to grow daily. No one is immune to the lawsuits, so they just cover all of their options as well as they can, and hope for the best. We also have some really contradictory laws, such as legal requirements for space between rows or racks of goods in retail stores, then the exceptions to all those rules, then the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for a wheelchair to be able to fit in the same spaces the other laws say don't have to be that wide, etc. I'm surprised we don't have a whole judicial system just dedicated to lawsuits! Kids will even threaten a lawsuit, if you speak to them in a way they don't like. What's worse is the number of teachers or people in authority who have been reprimanded or fired for speaking sharply to an out of control child, whose parents then sued over it. It's really sad So no one-sex only sessions, even if there are equal sessions, unless each sex has its own facility and can have sessions at exactly the same times. Snow coming in tonight, though only 1-3 inches. Most of the last snow we got was melted by the rain we had yesterday. So far it's been a truly weird year, with above average temperatures, and below average snow fall. We finally had enough cold overnight tempts to allow the ski areas to make snow, but they'd love some natural snow to create a really good base. Usually the ski areas have a good base by Christmas, so people vacation over the holidays, at the ski resorts. Not sure what the ski resorts did this past holiday?

I realize that I've become a REAL softie for guinea pigs. A year ago I wasn't doing more than just encouraging my daughter to give her guinea pig an occasional vegetable snack. Now, not only am I in charge of regular snacks schedules for TWO cavys, I'm even bringing them their goodies on a plate like I'm a waiter at an exclusive restaurant. All I need is a towel draped over an arm. Not that I'm complaining, mind you- I'm loving every second of it. I hear you on that one! Happy New Year everyone I'm at the start of a new health kick myself here so getting back into walking here and smashing myself on the elliptical before breakfast everyday. I'd like to lose about 8 kg, which I gained working a desk over over the last 18 months. Oops! It's a bit easier to get motivated at the moment being the middle of summer here in Australia.

Good luck with your health kick!
I hope we don't follow the US in terms of lawsuits. It's got worse here with personal injury claims - nothing can be a genuine accident anymore, people often want to make money out of stuff even when they haven't been injured. It puts all our insurance premiums up and I just hate the culture of it. Where someone has been negligent and you've suffered personally or financially for it (from not being able to work or needing specialist equipment or treatment due to an injury) then it's good that system is there, but we seem to be going down a road where being in a minor prang means you'll not just be able to claim the cost of repairing your car (as it should be) but you'll get to earn a couple of grand for personal injury, even if you haven't been injured. It's wrong and a terribly negative way to think - always looking for what you can get for yourself out of situations. That kids use the threat of suing as a rebuttal if they don't like something is just awful.
Hope your snow doesn't cause too much inconvenience. We're getting colder temperatures here but no snow yet, except for on very high ground. The kids would definitely appreciate just a day or two of snow this winter!

Maxiemojo, some of my Aussie friends are complaining about temps as high as 42C, which is way over my limit for heat. One friend who said it was 35 at her house, had everyone else heading over there to cool off, lol.
Hehe, I like the idea of thinking of the glass as one way, looking out.
The lawsuits have become a major problem, and it's reflected in all of our insurance rates. Doctor visits are as expensive as they are, because of all the malpractice claims that have to be fought, even if they aren't won. Doctors have to pay for that insurance themselves, and that's passed on to the patients. We had a lot of extra coverage on our cars, when daughter lived at home and we paid for her, as she was the one most likely to get in an accident that got us sued. It was ridiculous the amount extra we paid just to cover ourselves against lawsuits. It's just another way of trying to get something for nothing. I do hope it doesn't catch on in the UK.

Ooh, excellent! Nothing like great service Winter is here, with the cold and the snow flurries. I'm trying to build a standing bird feeder out of a hanging one (it had some useless little legs), and am about to cut some PVC pipe to length. We're only allowed two bird feeders here at the condos, so this is a way of hiding an extra one on the balcony It's cold, so while I'm waiting, I'll toss some seed and peanuts out the side kitchen window, so the ground feeders and squirrels have something to eat. If my feeder works, I'll post a picture.

Again, I spoke too soon. Nor'easter with only rain, lots and lots of rain, for tomorrow. Bye bye snow, again, lol. This has been a weird winter. Temps around 41 tomorrow, then back to the 20s on Monday.
Monday is Martin Luther King day, which means banks and some schools are closed, some offices will be closed, but not all of them. It also means another excuse to have sales, which all the retailers from from clothing to cars are having. A lot of our holidays, now that we celebrate them all on the most convenient Monday, have become excuses for long weekends and retail sales. The point to the holidays is pretty much lost.
