Oh no, poor Jo. I'm so sorry to hear she's fallen and broken her hip. What rotten luck.
Really pleased that Paul is well on the mend. Sounds like he's still in hospital though?
Thank you so much for the update, Critter, it's much appreciated. I have been thinking lots about Jo and worrying if she's okay and if Paul was still getting better.
Please send her all our love and I hope the hospital are taking good care of her. I'm sure she will be missing her animal family a lot, so I hope it's not too long before she can be back with them all. xx

Jo text just now to say "please send my love" (from Jo to yourselves) x
I have passed on your messages to Jo but I did have to condense them to fit on text, but told her they are lovely messages and the gist of them.

Aww I'm glad she knows we are all missing her and sending her lots of love - I'm sure she would have guessed it anyway, but it's so nice that we can pass it on and hear from her. Thanks Critter. x

Hiya Bean, I have tried to contact Jo but not had a reply yet. Thing is she has her mobile with her and I am starting to wonder if the battery or credit has gone or is very low. I know there will be a genuine reason. I will pass on your messages though in the hope that she will still be able to receive them, I know she will appreciate them very much. xx

Our dependence on digital technology strikes again I really hope she is recovering well. I know she's my age, and we're not too old to bounce back. Maybe she'll even get some help for her disability problems, while she's in the hospital. I'll remain optimistic about it! If you do talk to her, give her a hug from me

Oh yes, if your credit goes, it's not an easy place to top up. It's a shame if she can't keep us updated as it's reassuring to hear from her, but hopefully she can still receive messages and knows we are all thinking of her.
What's happening with all the animals? I hope something has been worked out that will be fine until she gets home, rather than there being an stress about it. I know she worries when she's away from them all.

Wow, I never thought about her not having anyone caring for the animals. I think she mentioned a neighbor who cared for them when she and Paul were away, and I just assumed that neighbor was caring for them now. I really hope the animals are being cared for, and she's not totally stressed over it.

Being away for a few days is one thing, but when it's a longer time, it gets trickier. I know Jo has some lovely friends from her Hopper group, so if neighbours can't help, hopefully there will be someone else who can. I'd certainly be queuing up to help if I were a few hours closer. I know she'll be missing them all like mad anyway.

Doesn't she also have some non bunny pets? I know she likes insects and other things, that might be harder to find sitters for. She will be heartbroken, if she loses any of them. I really hope she's found people to give them temporary homes.

I do hope Jo's pets are being cared for- I know when I'm on vacation I tend to worry about Oscar. I usually leave him with my older brother, who's an animal lover, but I don't think he gives the personal touch- when I get back, I notice that although he's been feeding Oscar, it doesn't look like Oscar's been given any new chew toys to keep himself amused.

Mine often stay with a family where I think they get plenty of attention, but they do sometimes just have someone stopping by to feed them rather than really engaging with them. I figure that's fine short term, although when you have a pig on its own, I think it's natural to be more concerned about boredom.
As long as they're all healthy, I don't worry too much when I'm away, but if I've got one who's had a health problem, I do worry if someone else will notice those early warning signs as quickly. When I had a dental pig, I used to take them all away with me whenever I could! That was before we had kids though, there's no room in the car for the pets now!
I'm hoping that Jo will have been well enough to give instructions so that the less common pets can still be cared for well, assuming there are people who can take them in. It'll be so hard for her though, especially with it being such a long time.

Hello my darling friends just a quickie sit up and to send you all my love. Still in much pain but managed a sit down shower and shampoo today so I am really pleased with myself. Hospital was horrendous. Paul on the mend but still needs to regain strength. Pleased so say he has given up the booze. I will come on here to say hello as often as I can. Pets are OK hunni, Paul is doing well with them, snailies should be gone soon all but about four, that will be a load off my mind.
God bless you all for your love and friendship.
Lots of love Jo xxx

Jo! It's great to hear from you! I totally understand the accomplishment of taking the sit down shower. You'll get there. It just takes time. So glad to hear Paul is on the mend and able to take care of your babies. I hope you have a quick and complete recovery

Jo!!! It's great to see you on, you have been very much missed. I'm sorry you've had such a rubbish time, but it's great to hear things are improving, and that Paul has been taking good care of the animals. Good to hear that he is making some changes to improve his long term health too, being so ill must have given him a scare. What a lot you two have been through this year, I hope there are calmer times ahead for you both. Take care of yourselves. xxx

Thank you so much my darlings, yes hunni, he did have a scare. I could see what was happening but I couldn't stop him. It has been a rubbish year so far I just hope that things get better. Physio coming next week so I intend to get a move on as best I can and get this pain down and some level of fitness.
Hope to drop a line tomorrow.
Lots of love Jo xxxx
