The pyracantha looks beautiful. We have to be careful with climbing things, that they don't send tendrils under the siding and lift it. That's why I gave up on the trumpet vine. I would need something like a grape arbor to hold it, so it would do to be climbing up the side of my house.
We have two gable ends on the shed. One we plan to hang a scythe on. It's an antique one I've had forever, and it would look cool hanging on the side of the shed. On the other gable end, I want a flower planting station, with a surface I can use to pot plants, and shelves to hold all the plant pots, potting soil, utensils, etc. I would love something like this: www.hayneedle.com/product/willowcreekmetalpottingbenchblack.cfm?ltype=child&tid=CWR187-2 I will make my own, though, and it will serve the purpose just fine. Otherwise, we don't really have a place to hold the pyracantha.
We are going to redo the side porch and steps, so it's the white/metal railings and the composite decking. Once we get that done, and the small back deck the same way, we could definitely grow it on those, and it would be spectacular.
Jo, I've had plants no matter where I lived. I've had plant stands, plant shelves that stood on the floor and went in from o of the windows, hanging plants, and even plants on every surface I could put in front of a window. I really hope you find a way to add some plants, foliage plants with lots of color, or flowering plants to make your environment pretty. When I finally die, some poor person is going to have to dispose of all of my plants Hehehe, not my problem
We have decided to do a small deck off the slider, just so the railings won't be in the middle of the glass, and do the rest in patio. Especially now that the shed is installed, and there is very little extra space between the shed and the slider, we'd rather have patio covering a larger area, and deck covering less. I will be able to hang my bird feeders off the back deck, though, so I can reach them from the slider, and see the birds through the slider. That will be really nice All in time
