It was okay in the end, thanks Jo - tiring, as although I've been swimming on holiday, both in the pool and in the sea, it's been nowhere close to the distance I swim when I go with my dad. I'm glad I went anyway. I did a bit less than usual but will get back into it properly next week.
There's a fish and chip shop by our leisure centre, and I used to enjoy those after a swim (it's all about balance, right?!), but have lost the taste for deep fried food these days. So I come home and have a bigger lunch than usual instead - it certainly helps you work up an appetite.

It takes a while to get back up to speed again Bean hunni when you haven't done something for a while. Well done for going and I am so glad you enjoyed it. Oh dear, a fish and chip shop next to the leisure centre Bean love, that is just too naughty as well. I always built up an appetite after swimming and yes it is about balance (!), it would be silly not to have some lol! The only time I have any fried food these days is when I have fish and chips and that is quite rare.

I no longer worry about what men think they want in a woman. I'm almost 66, and not going to get myself a new man. I love how men talk about what they want in a woman, which is rarely what they marry. I had a nice figure when I got married, but I was still short, lol I'm too old to care Cheesy chips, lol! I love it! I guess that's like, if something only has half the calories, we can eat twice as much I totally understand what you're saying, Jo. Why bother to exercise, then eat back on any calories you burned off? We're dumping the potatoes this weekend. We already dumped the bag of Vermont White, and got about a dozen potatoes. I can't wait to see what we got from the purples, the Yukon Gold, and the Russets. The dirt in the potato bags is so great, we're saving it for next year. All the flowering plants were brought inside last night, and taken back outside today. Temp got down to 34F, so while not a frost, some of the more delicate plants can't take temps much below 40F. Cold and rainy tomorrown, but hot and sunny Monday and Tuesday, so they should all be pretty happy. We kept the Jade plant inside, and probably won't put it out until Monday. It's gotten so big, it obviously had a happy summer outside with its friends

You are right Piggles love, I am not going to try anymore because as you say, men seldom marry their ideal as we don't. I think it is a case of both ordinary men and women not meeting their ideal, to be honest. In the world where everyone is beautiful, they have a choice. I am presently reading "The First Wive's Club" and it is such hard work to maintain a certain look, some of the women virtually starve themselves. It is a great book though. I have never had cheesy chips (fries), to be honest love, but I think it is cheese grilled and melted over chips. Paul is making an omelette today with salad, I am really looking forward to it. You have many more choices of potato than we do, I would love to try some of them being a great fan of tatties LOL!

I figure finding the perfect mate is like having a checklist of, say, 10 areas for rating possible mates. Unless they are super models, actors, etc., at best, they probably only check 7 of the 10 boxes. So we're left with deciding the other 3 boxes have to be checked, and possibly cheating on our spouse to get it, or just never finding the right person, or we can decide 7 out of 10 is pretty good, and possibly even better than we would be if someone rated us, so we'll be happy with that. Too many people figure they'll change the person, and get them to be a 10. Too many people, even if chosen as a 10, don't believe it and constantly do everything they can to look better. I think far too few of us just decide 7 out of 10 is pretty good, and just enjoy the ride after that.
