With one thing and another lately I obviously haven't been paying enough attention to my crew. Vet visit today as the lymph node had swollen up again. Vet picked a big scab off Winnie's chin and squoze a load of pus out. Seems she has infection in the tooth cavity again so she's got ABs for that. Ringworm seems to be stubborn too so needs more treatment. Either or both of those could be causing the lymph node thing so hopeully with drugs and time it will go down. If not, the vet will needle it for testing.
I asked the vet to clipper Macy's butt shilst we were there. Whilst doing so she discovered a 'present' from Rory buried deep in Macy's fur and stuck to her. Picking it off pulled s layer of skin off too.
Poor girls! Ringworm I can't do much about except keep treating it but the scab things I should have noticed and dealt with. Not feeling very pleased with myself just now but very glad of the vet visit.

Glad it's all in hand now - I doubt even in a distracted state you'd miss any significant signs of ill health, so don't beat yourself up too much. Hope Winnie's symptoms all improve soon and that Macy's sore patch isn't sore for long - boys eh?!
Have you used your pasta machine yet? A few friends were talking about them the other day and I was wondering if you'd had a chance to get stuck in yet.

You've not been distracted or anything lately. Don't b too hard on yourself. You're physically and emotional regrouping. Does seem as if those poor girls and you can't catch a break. Hugs Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

Thanks all. Macy's scab is looking nice and clean and like it's drying up. She'll get the rest of her haircut this weekend. Also restarted the scab picking regime for Winnie's chin so the tooth can continue to drain.

The scab picking does not sound nice but we are always willing to do anything to make our piggies better it's always worth it in the end. Glad things are on the up xx

After the vet clippered Macy's bum in the week, I now need to finish off her haircut. Wish me luck! I would normally bath her first and cut wet fur but I dont want to bath her with the scab. So I'll be trying to cut dry fur for a change. All the boys will get their bits washed today too. And if I have the time and energy after all that, I'll be building the foster fail boys a new bigger cage. I love cage building Winnie's lymph node isn't going down any yet but it has another week before I need to speak to the vet agsin about it. Think the tooth cavity is doing well with the scab picking and ABs but I can't really tell with the ringworm - I so hope it's improving!

Sorry the lymph node isn't shrinking. I hope the next week makes a difference. I remember Val doing cavy coifs on her girls. My eyes and hands just aren't good enough to do that. Good luck Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

Lymph node still the same so back to the vets shortly snd hope it's nothing sinister whilst preparing myself for the possibility. Finally built a lovely big cage for the boys Haven't had much time to watch them in it but have seen s few zoomies and popcorns. Will try and get some photos at the weekend. Boys are off to the vets for a pedicure tomorrow -they have very sharp toenails!

Sorry - I do have a couple of pics of the boys and their new cage but haven't got round to uploading them yet At the vets again this evening -Winnie's swollen lymph node has not gone down Vet agrees it's been like this for too long so has needle tested it. We get the results by the end of the week and surgery jext week if necessary, which seems likely. On the plus side, the abscess is looking good and the ringworm finally seems to ge clearing!

Sorry the lymph is going to need surgery. Pulling for her and you. Glad the rest is looking better. At least you get a bit of a break.

Vet has just phoned me with results, already! Thankfully the lump is likely just fatty but vet still recommends surgery to be sure as it should be easy to remove. She's booked in next Friday so I'll spend this weekend sourcing some comfies and tasties for her recovery :-)
