Here are some gorgeous photo's of some of the animals at Chester Zoo. My daughter Kathy bought a new camera and it really is excellent. Mine needs replacing as it only does silent movies and the model is quite old now so I might be updating my camera. We are regular visitors to Chester so I'll have more to show you soon. Here is a lovely Marmot .Little ones were saying, 'oh look its a guinea pig' lol A Rhino blowing a kiss Beautiful garden Sorry I can't remember what these antelope were called. Lovely Meercats Sunbathing awww Last one for now a pretty duck in a ring of bright water.

Or are they the same thing and I just fail? Nice photos anyways! What kind of camera? I'm in need of a new one.. Mine's so old.

Great photos Jackie! My favourite is the rhino, such a sweet expression (although the marmot is tough competition for it!).
Oooh didn't you have a nice sunny day for it!

you are so good at taking pictures. x Or her daughter is! But let's face it, if Jackie hadn't had Kathy, Kathy wouldn't have been able to take those fantastic pictures. So really it's all thanks to Jackie in the end lol.

I'm now watching Meercat Manor Val, isn't it a wonderful series. Yes it is! New season starts June 9th! Check out this link to "behind the scenes" in the making of it. animal.discovery.com/fansites/meerkat/meerkat.htmlI never knew that the people making these films ever got so close to the meerkats that they become so friendly, even jumping up onto their shoulders! lol I just love how they stand up and look around with such curiosity ....or is that fear? lol They really do form a family group and each one has such a different personality. You really do get to know them.

Thanks for the link Val, I'll have a look at it. They do have very different personalities don't they and I love how they look out for each other and even risk their life to save the babies. you are so good at taking pictures. x Or her daughter is! But let's face it, if Jackie hadn't had Kathy, Kathy wouldn't have been able to take those fantastic pictures. So really it's all thanks to Jackie in the end lol. Lol Treen, well yes quite true, I must show Kathy your post lol the Marmots and the meerkats get my vote. Great pics. I have heard that Chester Zoo is supposed to be excellent. It is Lesa, many of the animals have alot more room and they do try to create the animals natural habitat. Here are a few more pictures. The beautiful Okapi which is related to the giraffe rather than the horse family. Talking of giraffes, I have these lovely 3 on film too. It was so nice getting so close to them. A message for Jujumonki, after reading the sign outside their enclosure, Marmots are also known as Prairie Dogs. I did look on the net but from the sites I visited they said they were different but they are the same animal afterall. Those cheeky Marmots/ Prairie Dogs again. One of the baby elephants. The Jaguar was inside but here is just a small part of his outside enclousure. My hubby John is treating me to the same camera as Kathys as an early anniversary pressie, aww isn't he kind. ;D Thats all for this week folks. Edit For anyone interested in the camera I thought I'd post one of the movies in here. We watched these lovely 3 for ages. The camera takes lovely movies, the colours are just perfect.

Oh what a great thread!! I just love the Zoo- so much so that up until we lost my John, our families nick name was "The Zoo Crew". ;D Everyone called us that. I don't go as often anymore so for the last 4 years, I sponsor a Polar Bear for my John.
Anyway back to your great thread! That camera takes remarkable pictures. I'm so excited for you that you will be getting your own. Which of course is good news for us because we'll get to see tons of pics and pigtures..
I just love the baby elephant..how cute is that? The giraffe family pic and movies are fantastic and oh the colors of the flowers...well, you can tell I really enjoyed your thread. ;D
Thanks for sharing it and I look forward to lots & lots of pics~!

So lovely Lee Anne that you sponsor a Polar Bear for your John. Do you get updates in the post about the polar bear?
My camera arrived and I'm really looking forward to using it. I have an extra battery too and the memory card is very large so that's great.
