Thanks Lesa, hope you get to visit the Zoo one day. I wouldn't reccomend June or July though unless you wear ear muffs as its when dozens of School trips happen lol Just thought I'd pop in this funny photo of a Cheetah that my Kathy took. We both had to use the lens to its max as they were so far away.

I have more pics and videos to post soon but for now here is a movie of a lovely Rhino talking. I've never heard any of the Rhinos making a sound before. Another one comes along in the movie and makes the same sound. About rhino sounds: Rhinos do make noises that vary from puffing sounds, snorts, a deep but quiet roar (not like a lion), squeals and shrieks. White rhino males will particularly emit high pitched squeal when trying to keep an estrus The periodic state of sexual excitement in the female of most mammals, excluding human beings, that immediately precedes ovulation and during which the female is most receptive to mating; heat. cow from leaving his territory. Snorts, honks and roars are used to maintain spacing between animals. Loud shrieks are used defensively and the squeak-pant is made by bulls that are chasing away other rhinos. When courtship occurs the male will make a soft hiccup-panting sound. These noises are generally only heard in the wild when there is no human disturbance, however sometimes in captivity under special circumstances, a zookeeper will hear them. (Be sure to listen to the sounds on our Black Rhino page). Taken from: www.honoluluzoo.org/white_rhinoceros.htm

Never heard a rhino making noises before. He sounds more like a cow, definitely not what I expected to come from a rhino.

After hearing the video a few times, I can just about hear the other rhino calling even before you see them so I don't think she was talking to me afterall lol I hope the scary advert next to the video vanishes, what has it got to do with a talking rhino lol Here is a mixed movie video I've made with a song by the Scissor Sisters which includes a kissy cat fish, a kangaroo with his keeper and I finally filmed the Capybaras awake lol It was a windy day so it got quite loud in some of the movies so I thought music would be better. Sorry if it takes a little while to load. And some pictures. A Butterfly fish An Alien lol no hes a catfish Okapi Baby deer Capybara and elephants

Jackie that video was amazing! I think it is among my favorite ones that you have made. It was really a surprise to see the Kissy Fish there sucking on the glass. Funny how you can see inside his mouth like that. I'm glad your video was a bit lengthy because I was able to enjoy my bowl of Ravioli Pasta while I watched it. lol I love all the pictures. You are certainly getting good at this stuff. If you keep it up, you could even get some of your pictures submitted for posting in magazines. I'm not kidding Jackie, they are good!

The fish and the birds in the video have very striking colours and I love the butterfly fish photo. I've just realised I must have the sound turned off as didn't hear the music.

hehe.. great video Jackie! I do like the kangaroo keepers tree planting efforts! lol Lol Beckee I actually missed the most famous man at Chester Zoo who's called Alan. In the tv programme he was the one that brought up a lion cub when mum couldn't look after him. He was also working in the kangaroo enclosure but he went out of shot as I was sorting my camera out. Its good that his fame doesn't stop him mucking out with the rest of the keepers lol Val, thank you, my camera is great if the animals aren't too far away. Hopefully one day I'll get a camera with a better zoom. Glad you enjoyed your Ravioli Pasta while watching the movie lol Donna, I love Capybaras too. I have a mini film of them in the water so will post it soon. Lesa, I hope you got up and danced to the music? lol

I visited Chester Zoo again with my daughter Jenna on Wednesday and we was lucky enough to see an 8 day old baby black rhino with their mum. So adorable as you'll see from the video. The little calf makes a full appearance once their little belly is full. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RC7kkLfnQ0sAnd here is a video of a new Lion cub and his mum Asha. I couldn't get very close but it was lovely seeing them. I had to add music because there was noisy building work going on. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=G1iSVffx7QgZoo days which is a programme on Channel 5 starts tommorow featuring Chester Zoo for the next 3 weeks so can you guess who'll be watching it

He is isn't he and Asha seems like a very protective and loving mum. Here is a film of a Stitatunga which is a lovely antelope. I was watching her for a while but as soon as I started filming her she became nervous until she settled. I was thinking 'should I move away or stay lol uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kJhkdrIlKQE

Great video's as always Clover. The baby Rhino is very cute indeed. I like the antelopes, they have unusual markings. I haven't seen that type before. I really do need to visit chester zoo at some stage in my life. I will add that to my 'To Do' list! lol

I love the babies. The little rhino going to sleep with mom was so sweet.
You'll be watching Zoo Days and pointing out all the things you've seen at the Chester Zoo.

Glad you enjoyed the videos Donna, Beckee and Laurie. Yes Laurie I've been doing that lol They showed an ariel view and I can see why my legs are so tired at the end of the day with the Zoo having 11 miles of paths but I really do love going, even more so when its quieter. As usual the Zoo wouldn't allow me to go inside the Big Cats enclosures to have a cuddle and take pictures lol but here is a lovely male Tiger posing for me. A lovely Auntumn scene, really love this garden out of all of them.

Gosh Clover, you must be brave to want to go and cuddle a tiger, I am sure they aren't as friendly as Tony Tiger you know! lol They are great pictures, is he behind glass there, or do you have a good zoom?
I love the picture of the garden, the red leaves on the tree are so beautiful. I love all of the colours this time of year. Autumn is my favourite season for this reason. (That rhymes!lol)
