Aw, poor Jellybean. Perhaps picking him up in a basket or something, so he really doesn't have to feel picked up, would help. Otherwise, just letting him know you love him is enough.
It's hard when the pigs don't get along, so you can't get them all out to the run and back into the cage in one carrier. That's why I don't take mine out anymore. I have to leave one while I get the other, and I don't like that. I hope Pig Jerk time passes and they can get back together. It usually takes a few months to a year.

Well thankfully I can put them all into one carrier to transport them, and I am thinking I will build them individual runs outside, so they can all be out. They hate being moved so much that I can move them in the same box lol.

Not mine. Mia will physically attack Momos scent in my fingers, so I don't think it would be a good idea.

The boys dont hate each other that much, they simply cant stand to be together for long periods of time, a small amount of time is fine though. Thankfully, it makes it easier for bath time, and for cleaning or cage moving.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this thread!! My piggies have been driving me nuts. Just when I think I have them figured out, they do something different. Then I'm trying to figure out if I should intervene. The love being together, but then lately Harry has been kicking Weasley out of the can soda box. It isn't like there are other hidies, but Weasley likes being near Harry even if that means he doesn't get to be in a hidey.
Thank you all for sharing. It feels great knowing that I'm not alone in dealing with boars.
(Don't get me wrong...I absolutely adore Harry & Weasley. I wouldn't trade them for the world!)

They have as many personality differences as we do, and all come with baggage My girls were rescued from a hoarder with over 150 piggies. They may have issues, but they also have homes with me. My Morty is just a 5 pound mountain of piggy love Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

3piggles, WOW. My jaw dropped open when I read about the hoarder with over 150 piggies. Where they just running around the entire house, or where they caged?

It feels great knowing that I'm not alone in dealing with boars. My boys can be totally daft too - they generally get along just fine but do spend a lot of time chasing, shoehorning each other out of hideys and wiggling their hormonal bottoms in each other's faces! They're just coming up to 1 now so I'm hoping the hormones will start dying down a bit within the next few months!

Bean, I think the end is in sight, snd you've all survived very well Silamb, I don't remember the details, just when it was reported on the news about the seizure and possible charges pending. I got the girls a couple of months later, as I'm sure many were pregnant or had medical issues. It's so sad that there are probably hoarders/breeders that haven't been found and stopped, yet Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

Bean, you give me hope. My boys are mostly inseparable. It changes from who follows who around the pen. Follows not chases...well they switch up chasing too. Presently Weasley doesn't like to be far away from where Harry is. In the last 10 days I've seen go from Harry being Alpha to Weasley being Alpha to Harry being Alpha to Weasley being Alpha to Harry being Alpha for the last few days. It makes my head spin. Can it really only be 10 days. They have changed things up so much that it feels like much longer. Also, has it really only been 40 days that I've been a pig mama at all??? Time is flying! Wait that is a good thing...soon I'll be seeing the end of the adolescent craziness like you. 3piggles, God gave us the responsibility to rule over the animals. So many have abused that responsibility. Very sad. Actually, it is one of life's heartbreaking truths.

I believe we have responsibilities to treat all other beings as we would want to be treated. I'm not trying to offend, but we try to keep religion out of our discussions, as not everyone believes the same things. I hope you understand Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

3piggles, my relationship with God is the most important relationship that I have. As such it just overflows out of me. Kinda like when hubby and I started dating or got engaged or actually still now, my love for hubby just spills out of me. I've been told I've got the newlywed glow. I wasn't aware that I was breaking the rules. I've read some of the rules, but I confess that I haven't gotten through them all yet. Since you are asking me too, I will endeavor to keep it under wraps in the discussions. If anything slips out in the future, please know that I'm not intentionally trying to break the rules. I will really work at not breaking the rules. I promise.

Thanks so much for your understanding. It's not in the rules as such, just that time has taught us that given how people's opinions vary so much on the subject and that people can often feel very passionate/ defensive about their beliefs (whether one of a number of religions, non-religious or even anti-religion), it makes it easier for us all to get along if we don't champion our particular view too much. I hope that makes sense - it's not a vow of silence on the subject or anything, just a consideration that someone you're talking to might not feel comfortable with your views, however strange it may seem to you! Hopefully it won't make you feel any less at home here.
Interesting that your boys switch who does the chasing, and that they do a lot of following too. My two have had a fixed order from day 1 (I could even tell who was going to be boss from seeing their photo at the rescue!). So there's no clambering for the top spot, just rambunctiousness and hormones!
Mine are worst when they go to a new space as Cadders feels he has to exert his authority again. The first few times they went out in the run on the grass, I'm not sure they got to eat much grass they were running round so much. Sometimes we feel a bit sorry for Josh, but as soon as Cadders stops chasing him, Josh goes over and wiggles his bottom at him and gets him all stirred up again! It's just how they do things but it's hard not to sometimes look at it from the view of how we'd feel if it were us getting chased etc. Luckily now they're used to the run, it's much calmer - I suppose it was good exercise for them anyway!

I have found boys are nuch more territorial, often in very comical ways. Girls tend to be more attitudinal, though that can devolve rather comically, too Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

my boys are foolish. They cant be together, but when it comes to cage cleaning time, Alfonz has started trying to pull down the divider wall between him and Marbles so he can be in there with the little beggar lol. They are awesome though, I dont know what I would do without my piggy boys.
They have been getting corn husks and silks for the past week for their tasty snack, and going nuts for them lol. Although I think Alfonz is trying to protest being in a smaller cage by making a huge mess with all his food items lately lol.

Oooh husks and silks, what a treat! We'll have to keep our eyes open for some that haven't been stripped before getting to the shop as all my pigs have loved them.

I had no idea that guinea pigs would eat, let alone enjoy corn husks! I'll be sure to give George and Arthur some the next time we have sweet corn.
