Now I've been around here a few weeks and you've all met my pigs, Woolly and Bingo, I think it's time to introduce the feline elements to my household! This is Silvie - she is 6 and came from Cats Protection when she was 5 months. She suffers from arthritis but is otherwise a very happy cat. She is absolutely gorgeous in both looks and nature, a totally fab cat, my wee best pal This is Taz - she also came from Cats Protection this summer aged 18 months. I tried to get her and Silvie to get along but it just wasn't happening - she kept attacking poor Silvie. I found a greta solution though - Taz went to live with my mum and both cats are now much happier! Taz is also a fab cat, very pretty, full of beans and character and has my mum wrapped round her wee paw! And this is Seth - he lives over the road from us but considers most of the houses in the street as an extension of his own! Not sure if he's a proper breed but he looks like a Bengal to me. He is a gorgeous cat and very friendly and playful with people but a bit intimidating to other cats as he is HUGE! Hope the photos work and that you like them all!

Ooo more beautiful cats! Lovely pictures weesilvie!
What a shame that Taz and Silvie wouldn't get along but that's a happy ending that she could go and live with your Mum!

Beckee - I was very sad I couldn't keep Taz but so pleased my mum was happy to help out. I tried everything by the book for the introductions but Taz just wasn't having it and when Silvie got injured in one of the fights I knew I had to make 'The decision'. Am pleased for my mum too cos she didn't have a cat and said that she'd be happy to take one on if it landed in her lap but wouldn't make the effort to get herself one! Strange woman... Anyway, she's really happy to have Taz, even if she is in the process of destroying the carpets!
Val - Yes they're all totally gorgeous but I am completely biased! And only Silvie really belongs in this house. Although I'd be quite happy to catnap Seth if I thought Silvie would let me but she doesn't really like him - he is a bit of a bully even though he does a really good line in looking like butter wouldn't melt!
I know you all like pictures so when I treat myslef to a scanner for my birthday this week, I'll introduce you to all the previous cats in my life.

I know what you mean about the cats not getting along. I have three cats and recently introduced the third...I think it's been almost 7 weeks now or close to it? The newcomer cat does not get along with my other two cats but I am still hopeful. My resident Top Cat has already caused a fighting injury to my newcomer cat that resulted in having to take her to the vet since her wound abscessed and needed medical treatment. I just wish and hope that they all get along in the end. I have heard that cat introductions that are hard to crack can take up to 6 months or more. Newpig and Beckee are my go to gals when I need help with my cats. Both ladies are cat crazy.... newpig is a bit of a cat whisperer! I will be looking forward to seeing your other past cats.

Aww they are gorgeous weesilvie. I know so many people that keep both cats and piggies. I used to have a cat called Felix, he passed away in 2004 aged 18. Hopefully one day we'll get another cat.
Will look forward to seeing your other past cats.

Ooohh - gorgeous cats. I love your tree as well. I really wanted the double version of it but it just wouldn't fit any where I planned to put the new one. Silvie's coat is stunning.

The tree is quite a hit. I was dubious about whether it would be but I've put it just inside the french-window-type back door, so she sits on it and looks down at whoever's outside! Its got lots of scratching post bits as well which are her favourite. Birthday shopping has been slightly delayed but I'm off to Amazon right now to get the deed done - should have my new toys to play with by the weekend! Who knows where I'm going to put it all...

Val, I hope your introduction situation improves - I will watch your threads to find out. And I know Newpig Is another crazy cat lady - it seems we share membership of another cat forum - you too, perhaps? My friends laugh at me for these forums and even don't believe me when I say how helpful they've been, especially with the pigs as I'm such a newbie with them and learning all the time! But we all know the truth... Birthday shopping now done although I was a cheapskate with the postage so it won't be here until next week. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to post new pics of old cats!

And I know Newpig Is another crazy cat lady - it seems we share membership of another cat forum - you too, perhaps? Oh you are a member of Purrs? Newpig introduced me that forum and they have been very helpful to me and my dealing with my three cats. What's your sign on name in that forum? Mine is HunterHarleysMummie (Val)

Hi Val - I had guessed it was you in Purrs from the names of your cats! I'm the same in purrs, weesilvie. Haven't been about much in purrs recently as I've been busy with the pigs - but this week I introduced the pigs to Purrs and have had some wonderful comments!

I changed the name of this post, taunting you all with more pics of more cats - and then the net crashed as I was loading them into Photobucket and I couldn't post them! So here they all are, in order of how old they'd be if they were all still with us. Starting with Milly - a flu, flea and worm ridden tiny kitten we got from a local farm who grew into a somewhat rotud and very cantankerous old black cat! Then Paddy. A veritable lion. We reckon he had some wildcat or Norwegian Forest in his ancestry somewhere. In fact the kitten of my best friend's very unassuming looking short hair tabby and white! Now Octy. I did some voluntary work at a Blue Cross shelter when I was young and had him picked out since I saw his pregnant mum! He lived to the ripe old age of 17. Boris (b&w) and Tasha were brother and sister. Tasha succumed(sp?) to the big road when young but Boris was 15 when he died. He looked and acted the softest and daftest cat when with people, but was one of the most accomplished hunting cats we had. And Jessie - we reckon her and MIlly must have had anscestry in common - they both so very alik in every sense! Finally Maisie (asymetrical) and Tigger. Obviously tiny kittens here but also grew into very neat and compact cats. Maisie is the only one still with us, aged about 17. That's the lot - hope you like them all!

Ooh I love them all! I must say that the picture of Paddy "the lion" is rather impressive. He really does look like a true lion with that close up shot. I'm also impressed that you have been able to keep your cats so long to such old ages. As kittens, I bet that Maisie and Tigger could have passed as newpigs new cats, Purdey and Lexie? All your cats are beautiful!

Thanks Val! Thay are all wonderful cats. Paddy was very impressive - and HUGE! Another one who was soft as anything with people but could easily have passed for a wildcat when outside and hunting. He also saw off several large dogs from our house including a golden retriever! The lack of ears in that picture is down to my mum experimenting with a close up lens on her camera - there are several pictures in our collections of earless cats for that reason!

Gorgeous cats, past and present. Jessie reminds me of our late Jazz Cat. She was all black and had a lot of attitude. We miss her most of all.

Thanks for all the lovely comments - I love it when people like my animals! I am totally biased but I think they're all fantastic too. And I can't have any favourites cos each one has brought something entirely different to my life. I can't imagine a life without cats. Or pigs, now!
