Thanks so much Janet, I'm still very embarrassed I'll have to alter Thumpers page and update my piggy diary to embarrass myself even more lol Just a short update this time. Thumper is doing ever so well, lots of eating and pooping, her wound looks very clean. When she begs for food, its a good way to see it. Still having a wresling match when she has her meds but once she calms down, she likes the taste. She really is a healthy and strong bunny and when I say strong, I mean that in every sence lol

Glad you got it all sorted out Jackie and hopefully Thumper will be able to recover from the shock eventually. Waking up one morning without a wee-wee is the type of thing most guys live in perpetual fear of! Thanks Teebers and yes I can imagine it would be a big fear Thanks Val and don't worry Val, after the shock we had a good laugh about it.lol I think Bambi's Thumper is a boy. I was telling my brother and like you Val, he came up with Thumperlina lol Thanks Donna and Treen. I'm sorry I'm late with an update, we've had a worrying day but Thumps is alright now. This morning she had all the signs of going into gastric stasis. She started having diarrhoea, then producing nothing but like a jelly type mucus. I rang the vets and we went all the way back to Manchester to pick up a gut stimulate called Maxalon. Anyway two hours after the first dose Thumps did little poops but even more amazing was that she started to eat by herself. Just to try and get her eating, I gave her just 4 rice krispies multi-grain and she begged for more. I grabed a couple of small Dandelions from the garden and she ate those too and its been up hill ever since. Shes now tucking into her pellets and hay and her poops have gone larger and more solid, its such a relief. She needs to be on the Maxalon for another two days, her dose is 3 x 1.09ml. They said its to keep her tum going until we are sure her tum is ok.Shes still having Metacam as pain releif which is 2x 3.07ml and then that will be reduced after the third day. Thumps is more alert too and really is fighting with me to avoid the syringes of meds so shes definatly getting back to her cheeky self. lol No blood or pus on the towels so fingers crossed she will keep improving. She has to have cage rest for the next few days. Val and gogoplant2 , she might want the pink varnish on to dress up for her future boyfriend lol

Lol anna well Thumps cage is blue so when hubby makes the new cage we'll have to add some pink lol
Lesa, hope Clover and Brin are the gender you think they are lol You made me feel better saying rabbits are hard to sex, I'm living proof lol Yes we will be looking for a neutered boy when Thumps starts feeling better.
Treen, it is a strange feeling and Thumps must have thought 'silly humans calling me a he for most of my life' lol
Beckee, In away its lucky that Fiver and Thumper didn't get along as there would have been little ones. I always hoped they would get along though but at least they were neigbours for years and could see each other all the time.
Well I managed to feed Thumps plenty of Critical Care and water so I'm very relieved that she has had a good feed but it will be every 3 hours until she starts helping herself. Being able to handfeed her means she can have her metacam in the morning.
Thumps is quiet but isn't sat ridged or grinding her teeth alot so hopefully that means shes not in too much discomfort. I'll just be relieved to get her through these next few days.
Sorry I've not had chance to catch up on everyones little ones.

Thanks so much everyone. We got back from the vets an hour ago and I've quite a bit to tell you. Well first of all Thumper was healthy for the op. But when Molly managed to place a struggling Thumper on his back, Molly told us that she can't neuter Thumper because Thumper is in fact a female. Honestly I was in shock and so was my daughters. Having never been able to see 100 % properly under Thumps because Thumps always struggled and I was so worried about hurting his spine because of the hard kicking, I didn't want to risk it. We were told his was male like Fiver when we got Thumps. I had felt underneath on the odd occassion when Thumps had actually let me for a couple of secs, I just thought like I'd read that he may be retracting the testicles if he was worried so just thought that was the reason. Even my local vets hadn't picked up on it when Thumps visited as Thumps has never had surgery and has always been healthy. Its partly why Thumps was always very fiesty when you tried anything but a cuddle and stroke. As you can imagine we are shocked and I bet you are too lol My past cat Billy as a kitten went in as a female to be spayed and came out of the vets a neutered male, but Bily was only Mindy for a few weeks. I've so far never sexed a guinea pig wrongly, so I'm not completly hopeless at getting the gender right Now Molly thought that going ahead with a spay was a very good idea considering the high risk females being susceptible to ovarian, uterine and mammarian cancers. So very pleased to say that Thumps got through her op and is now resting at home (can't get used to saying her or she yet). I didn't get chance to speak to Molly again but the nurse said there was changes happening so its just as well Thumps went for the op. Will find out more on monday. I might need to syringe feed her as its been such a big op, shes shown a little interest in grass but not much. I'll try and let you know how Thumps is this evening.

Aww thanks Val but they didn't go ahead with my op because I started with a cold so they didn't want me to sneeze without notice. I'm leaving it until early next year now, my nerves have had enough lol I just wanted to wish our Thumper all the very best for his op tommorow. He's been in and out of his carrier so he's very used to it now. Its a little on the heavy size but it has a very strong handle and there is plenty of room for him to turn and stretch. While having his op he'll be having a nail manicure too so he'll look extra nice for his future lady. Will be very relieved when its all over for him. I'll let you all know when I hear from the vets. He's going in early morning for his health check with Molly and then hopefully his op will be over with by dinner.

I'm so sorry you lost your Harry back in 2005.
I don't know if you have any guinea pigs now but for future reference, mites can be diagnosed and treated by an an exotic vet.
I'm sure Harry is running free over at Rainbow Bridge, remembering the happy times he had with you.

Aww on the odd occassion my Peachy used to nip my clothes after a nail trim Val because she was a little annoyed with me, but I'm sure like Miss GeeGee, it was an accident. A good ole moaning is a bit better though lol Oh you're good Clover! Please forgive me. Why of course you are invited to come. Stay as long as you like, but be prepared, if you stay more than a few days, there will be some cage cleaning chores to be done as well as daily poop scooping of the kitty litter pans. Won't you come and join me in all the fun? *Thinks of an excuse* well you see I can't do the kitty litter trays as I have an allergy to them lol

Thanks very much donna, becksters, anna , Val and Janet. They were calm Val, especially Beatrix. She really is reminding me of my Peachy and Sweetpea who had a very adventurous spirit. Aww poor Squeekie, being senior had trouble keeping up with her but he tried bless him. Squeekie prefers to rest more so he just did mini runs. Its just grass from the garden which they love. But the other day hubby forgot to leave them a patch and cut it all, hopefully it will grow a bit before winter sets in. Beatrix does look like she has a main doesn't she lol When my eye is better (I won't bore you all with details, have already done that in Thumpers thread lol) I will try and put a video with a story about the tunnel, I like 'wonder pets' Janet

Lol Thanks so much everyone. Not long now for Thumps op. I feel as though I'm boring everyone telling them about my little cataracts op which I'm having tomorow but if you don't see me around its because I can't see the letters on my keyboard until I can get glasses for reading. I can see very well far away as they put a long vision lens in last time and they'll do the same with my left eye but won't be able to see letters close up anymore. Maybe hubby can make something to attach to my arm so I can press the keys from a distance lol I will try and let you know how Thumps is though even if I ask one of my daughters to type a bit for me. Will be glad when its all over with for him and we are both sat on the settee watching Thumps favourite film Watership Down.
